Agree! We just become parents to a new 2 year old hairy from Meriden Humane Society. She is the sweetest dog ever and I don't understand how someone could give him.
Adopting a pet for Christmas
Adopt-a-thon also includes pet caroling walk in which participants make $ 5 donations to run its own pet or pets from shelters about Ivins to help spread the Christmas spirit.
The event was supported by Ivins friends animal shelter, which has been held to enable the entire month to help the animals of the shelter get adopted or fostered into a loving home.
Residents can also get involved by sponsoring pets in shelters. Sponsor pets including providing funds to pay for medical procedures and food animals may need.
"We hope the adopt-a-thon we get pets adopted as many times as possible," said Linda Elwell, President of Ivins friends animal shelter. "We want to have a shelter which is empty for Christmas morning."
Near the store focuses on Pet health
Healthy Pet products customers no longer have to go to the Hill North to find natural foods, supplements and treats for dogs and cats. Owner Toni Shelaske opened a second store in upper St. Clair.
The shop opened in late October and held its grand opening on Saturday. Already shop "is doing very well," said Shelaske.
"I am passionate about what I eat the pets," he said. "I have a loyal customer because I products and knowledge."
Shelaske word knowledge comes from many years of owning a pet-sitting business. He became aware of the suffering of the general health of the pets he takes care of and start researching. The root of the problem, in most cases, is what animals eat, he said.
Since then, Shelaske says he has helped many dog and cat cope with irritable bowel syndrome and allergies, among other diseases.
Drive adoption for ‘ locked down ‘ cats Set for this weekend
About 47 of cat taken and treated by the shelter and all that was left was taken by North Shore Animal League in Port Washington. North Shore Animal League says if the cat well enough for adoption, they will begin to offer them for adoption which starts on Thursday. However, they advised residents of the area looking for lost pets who believe those cats could be one point sand cat, to contact them at 516-883-7575.
Nassau County officials and the police did not comment on pending charges or who may be responsible for the capture and caging cats.
