Pet owners who are willing to spend thousands to save animals

According to the American Pet Products Association, Americans will spend $ 50 billion on their animals this year.

APPA says pet spending has increased annually in the last decade. It could be because pet ownership at an all time high; two of the three American households now have animal.

It's not just food, treats and toys that pet owners who buy. Americans spend an average of $ 1 billion per year on health care with many pet owners are willing to shell out thousands if their pets are at stake.

According to a recent survey by the Kroger Co., 61 percent of pet owners say they will spend between $ 100 and $ 1,000 for the treatment of life-saving. Another 15 percent would be willing to pay between $ 1000 and $ 3000 treatment. Ten percent of owners said they would be willing to pay $ 3,000 or more for medical treatment if necessary their pets. Fourteen percent of those surveyed were not sure how much they would be willing to pay.

One of the local vet said while the survey provides some interesting information, he felt the number of people who found who are willing to pay $ 3,000 or more for the treatment of animals can be completely at the end of low.
