Montclair observing animal shelter Adopt
All month, senior animal adoption fees will be half, and the cost of adoption will be waived for senior citizens (age 65 and over) who adopt a senior pet month.
"Some animals are the sweetest, most loving we have … in a senior animal shelter, and they got here through no fault of their own," said Melissa Neiss, Coordinator of the shelter. "Often they end up here because something had hit their owners."
Senior pets already housebroken, mature and has been sitting on their personalities, according to the MTA 's, and tend to be well-matched with adopters more mature. Research has shown that having a pet can provide health benefits for seniors, including lowering blood pressure and reduce anxiety and loneliness, it is stated release.
This is why MTAs are committed to matching the perfect senior with animals, and also to support post-adoptionen senior.
